Android Ice Cream Sandwich video shows up, Samsung-Google event on October 11

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Video

A video of the yet to be released Ice Cream Sandwich mobile OS from Android functioning on the Samsung Google Nexus S has been flashed, reports Engadget.

Reportedly, a consumer purchased a new Samsung Google Nexus S from eBay and on delivery, found it to be rather different than expected. On examining it further, it was found to be operating on the to-be-released mobile platform from Android. Seizing the opportunity, the user recorded a 2 minute video of the device and its operations, showing off to the world the supposed brand new face of the Android mobile operating system.

Earlier this month, Eric Schmidt almost announced the Ice Cream Sandwich treat to be delivered in October or November this year while communicating at the Dreamforce conference. This possibility being admitted by the Google Chairman himself has been raising several speculations since then, not just about the prospective release but also handsets which will incorporate the operating system.

According to reports on the web, Samsung has been sending media invites for its next event titled ‘Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011: Google Episode’. It is slated for October 11 at San Diego along with live streaming through the YouTube Android channel. Not that the title was too subtle for the commoners’ senses, the tag line shouts ‘Join us at Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 to get a look at what’s new from Android’, while the invite places logos of the two companies side by side.

The event, yet unexplained, can be about anything from a new Google-partnered Samsung device (read Nexus Prime) to the highly anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich embedded in it. And the video has not satisfied Android fans but elevated the excitement and even raised some more questions.
