Acer Iconia W3 earns smallest Windows 8 tablet title

Acer has employed the Computex 2013 as a dais to launch the smallest Windows 8 tablet, dubbed Iconia W3. Having said that, the company has yet to pinpoint a specific release date, instead it has marked the whole of June as a bracket for the gadget’s availability.

Meant to appease a diverse target audience, the Acer Iconia W3 comes bundled with Microsoft Office Home & Student which is otherwise worth $139.99 and offers Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. The manufacturer has moreover stressed on the tablet’s ability to support x86 legacy, on account of the OS’ inclusion.

The 8.1-inch Acer Iconia W3 which has been built around an LED-backlit touch display, is powered by a processor similar to the one residing within the W510 tablet belonging to the same series. This means the gadget gets its kick from an Intel Atom Z2760 chipset. The slab will be landing into stores in 32GB and 64GB variants, over and above which, it will endorse expansions of up to 32GB via a microSD card.

A 2MP camera rests on either side of the slate, facilitating activities ranging from capturing images and recording videos to permitting live face-to-face conversations.
