Vodafone announces new data plans for Karbonn smartphones

Vodafone customers who are contemplating buying mid-range smartphones can opt for the Karbonn Titanium S5 or the Smart A12 as the service provider has introduced new data plans for these gadgets. What needs to be noted is that subscribers will be able to enjoy free internet for three months, if they decide to make the most of these offers.

According to a statement issued by the mobile manufacturer, the S5 will be proffered to users with an unlimited internet plan on mobile networks like 3G, 2G and EDGE, free of charge for a period of 90 days. And as far as the Smart A12 is concerned, it will tag along 500MB of data for two months on all of the aforementioned network speeds, without asking the subscribers to shell out even a single dime.

It goes without saying that the scheme is exclusively applicable to the customers of the network provider in question. These two companies are not the only ones to have entered into a collaboration, Pantel Technologies and BSNL have also made a similar agreement and so does a number of others.

Potential buyers who are interested in making the most of these schemes would want to know about the features of these devices. So here they are. First up is the Titanium S5, a 5-inch phablet that accommodates a capacitive qHD touchscreen on the front panel as well as a 2MP camera and an 8MP snapper on the rear side. The dual SIM phone employs a 1.2GHz quad core processor, a gigabyte of RAM, a 2000mAh battery and the Android Jelly Bean OS too.

The Smart A12 is an entry-level Ice Cream Sandwich device that provides a multi-touch real estate of 4.5 inches. A 1GHz processor fuels the smartphone, while 512MB of RAM should ensure smooth navigation at all times. Prospective users can also expect a 5MP rear camera, a VGA front-mounted webcam, a 1800mAh battery and dual SIM card slots amongst a number of other things.

So far, Karbonn and Vodafone have included only these two smartphones in the data plan schemes. But we are expecting the companies to team up again in the future for introducing offers for other devices as well.
