Acer’s Android KitKat Iconia Tab 8 has Intel Atom Z3745 quad core processor

An iPad mini rival called the Acer Iconia Tab 8 has showed up quad core processor at the Computex 2014 which is taking place in Taipei right now. Sure, this is an Android KitKat tablet and not an iOS device we’re describing here, but you may want to take a quick look at its specifications before making any judgements.

Even if Acer has skimped on details with regards to the specs of the Iconia Tab 8, we have the key features to chew upon. The device runs on the latest version of Android, that’s KitKat 4.4, and embeds an Intel Atom Z3745 processor. The last mentioned boasts of having four cores and a clock speed of 1.33GHz.

The Acer Iconia Tab 8 integrates an 8-inch touchscreen offering full HD resolution, IPS for optimal viewing angles and anti-smudge properties, stretched across the front. It’s all metal on the rear and sides so that the feel of its 8.5mm body is unmistakeably premium. The tablet is about 30gm heavier and 1mm thicker than the Retina display iPad mini.

Acer has stuffed the device with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory, apart from sliding in a microSD card slot for expanding the hoarding space. There are cameras on the front and back panels, though the company has neglected to mention their resolutions. Also, it’s only talking about a Wi-Fi capable tablet currently and hasn’t dropped hints about the possibility of a cellular model.
