Samsung Galaxy W is a tablet-sized phone with a 7-inch screen

Someone please explain to us why the Samsung Galaxy W tablet-sized phone with a 7-inch screen could not have been called by any other name. The South Korean company launched a Gingerbread handset going by the very same name in 2011 and it’s chosen to give its latest device the very same moniker.

The Samsung Galaxy W (new one) that is headed only to South Korea features the faux leather rear with which the manufacturer has fallen head over heels in love. It carries a quad core processor of unmentioned origin clocked at 1.2GHz and 1.5GB of RAM. The device delivers LTE-Advanced support so that users can take advantage of the blazing high speed network spread out by SK Telecom in the country.

One thing about the Galaxy W that really disappoints is its Android Jelly Bean approach, when KitKat should have been the OS of choice here. Another less-than-impressive feature is the smartphone’s 7-inch screen which only does 720p resolution visuals. In terms of storage, you have 16GB of ROM as well as a microSD card slot for adding up to 64GB of extra space.

– Up to 64GB microSD card support
– LTE-A network connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy W is expected to carry a price tag of 499,400 won and arrive in color options of black, white and red, says Sammy Hub.
