Marco Polo app asks you to shout at your misplaced phone to find it

If you’ve played the game Marco Polo, then you already have an idea of how the synonymous iOS application to help locate your misplaced phone must work. Developed by Matt Wiechec and available on the Apple iTunes Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch gadgets, the Marco Polo ‘finder’ app happens to be priced at $0.99 and is a 23MB download.

For those who aren’t familiar with Marco Polo, it’s normally played in a swimming pool by several people. One player keeps his or her eyes closed or is blindfolded and then yells ‘Marco,’ and the others shout out ‘Polo.’ The person whose turn it is must catch or tag another by listening to the responding cries from the other players and figuring out their locations without the any visual aid.

The app works in a similar manner too once you’ve installed it onto your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch. Can’t seem to remember where you misplaced your phone? You can yell out ‘Marco’ and hear it ring back ‘Polo.’ You may customize it with any of 30 different pre-recorded ‘Polo’ voices and even tweak it to answer to any other word apart from ‘Marco.’

The Marco Polo application can function even if you’ve set your smartphone to silent or it’s in sleep mode. A Volume Boost feature ensures that the gadget always responds loudly in case you’ve left the ringer on a lowered volume. If you turn on the Push Notifications option, then your screen lights up whenever there’s an alert awaiting your inspection.
