The Acer Allegro, the new Windows Phone 7.5 operated smartphone is all set to make a commercial debut with its first destination being France. The handset had made its first appearance at the IFA 2011 under the moniker W4.

Pocket-lint dug up this news from French website Mon Windows Phone which posted the story about its release. This will be the first venture that Acer attempts with the latest version of the mobile platform from Microsoft.

The key features of this handset give out a 3.6-inch WVGA LCD touchscreen, with a resolution of 480 x 800p. The weight of this device is a mere 126g and the body measures 11.6mm x 5.9mm x 13mm. Its insides are graced by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and the internal storage capacity offered reads at 8GB. Embedded with a 1300mAh battery, the device runs for up to 6 hours before it needs a fresh supply of energy.

In terms of connectivity, this Acer phone is enabled with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR technology. For capturing photos or videos, it is equipped with a 5MP camera accompanied by LED flash on its rear. The one attractive specification of this device which sets apart from a lot of other similar devices is the Fast Charge technology from Acer. The company claims that this handset charges up approximately 2.5 times faster than its other phones and tablets.

Reportedly, France is expected to welcome the smartphone by mid November. The Acer Allegro price has been tacked at €299. However, there is no word yet on when other parts of the world should be ready to receive this one.
