BlackBerry App World 3.0 launched with a fresh look

BlackBerry App World 3.0RIM has officially updated the BlackBerry App World to the latest 3.0 version. The refreshed version was initially made available only to Beta Zone members and was supposed to launch last month.

The official BlackBerry App page displays a host of new features which come with the update. This App World has been updated to a whole new look complete with a fresh homescreen that displays rotating banners which focus on all the new happenings and revised icons. All the apps, games and themes now have their own channels for users to access them faster.

The MyWorld downloads folder has also undergone significant changes. Users can share apps through email, SMS, Facebook, Twitter and BBM wherein each month they will be able to view a new themed section to feature specific kinds of apps.

With a changed user interface, this version features My Account which manages users’ payment options. Also via the BlackBerry ID users can gain access to their account information from their homescreen itself. Whenever subscription renewals become available, they will be duly notified.

Users can now view a quick summary, take a look at screenshots, check out reviews and star ratings as well. They are also allowed to find apps at a quicker pace owing to the new placement of the search bar. It will now be appearing on the storefront homescreen and the search results can be seen across Channels as well as My World. Furthermore, there are also Search bars within every Channel and users can filter them by App Name, Price, Rating, Newest, Best Match, or Popularity.
