Spice gearing up to out unnamed flagships as Flipkart exclusives in India

Here we go again, Flipkart is all set to welcome a bunch of flagship Spice products as exclusives in the near future. The Amazon of India, Flipkart has been bagging a lot of devices for its very own including the Moto series devices and Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S, Mi 3 as well as Redmi Note.

Much to our surprise, Oppo announced Amazon as its online seller in July, but ended up awarding Flipkart with an exclusive over the Find 7 phone. Even the Galaxy S5 mini failed to land in the Samsung India eStore and went directly to the popular e-retailer just recently.

It’s no surprise that Spice has decided to sign an exclusive deal with Flipkart then. While announcing this decision, the manufacturer hasn’t named any of its upcoming Spice phones which will be sold solely by the latter. The brand will have a ‘dedicated store’ on the vendor’s website for its products.

Some of the flagship offerings will hit availability in mid-September and Spice is even ambitiously saying that it thinks Flipkart will be able to sell 100000 of its handsets within the initial few days of launch. These are extremely vague, uninformative and fanciful comments, in our humble opinion.

Spice already gave its Firefox OS handset to Snapdeal and in terms of surprises, we’re yet to be introduced to its Android One smartphone. It’s possible that Flipkart will have exclusive rights over the company’s forthcoming Android One device. Then there shall be the usual collection of Android gadgets too.

With the newest Flipkart deal, Spice is hoping to capture at least 10% of the market share of overall online smartphone sales in India.
