The social gaming company Zynga recently announced through its blog that it has taken over Five Mobile, a Toronto based firm. The latter is a Canadian company which specializes in software applications for mobile devices. Intellectual Property along with some assets of Five Mobile would be handed over to Zynga as per the terms of the acquisition.
Zynga Toronto is the rechristened name of Five Mobile which is allegedly among the most respected mobile app development companies of Toronto. The founders of the acquired company will join Zynga, the producer of widely played Facebook games like Farmville, CityVille and Mafia Wars.
Through this acquisition Zynga aims to advance numerous initiatives within Zynga mobile. Zynga has also declared plans to establish a headquarters branch in Canada. This is Zynga’s fifteenth acquisition in the past thirteen months.
While the financial terms of this deal were not disclosed, we can’t wait to see what this acquisition will offer mobile gaming enthusiasts.
