Google Docs in new avatar for mobile devices

Google Docs Mobile ImprovedA new updated version of Google Docs was announced for users of mobile devices to operate their worksheets and documents while on the move. The cloud-based app has now been reinvented by Google so that it can be employed efficiently by users of mobile phones as well.

Users are enabled to arrange spreadsheets, text docs, presentations, PDFs and drawings they create online as well as share various documents. They can put to use the same method sharing documents through their mobile browser as they would on the desktop.

Once users log in from their mobile devices, they would see two drop-down categories on the navigation bar. One of them classifies the documents by name, modification date and the date when it was last opened. The other sorts long lists of documents users own, have starred as important or are part of a collection. Users can also filter by document type.

Whenever users select one or more of these documents, they would be able to view the Share button which appears on the bottom of the screen. Users can then e-mail the file as a link or an attachment or copy the link.

According to the official Google mobile blog, these small but apparently useful additions to the online version enable smoother viewing and using experience from a small mobile phone screen.

The improved version of Google Docs is now live and works on almost all popular mobile operating systems.
