The successor to India’s first ICS tablet claimant has set foot in the country and it goes by the name Zync Z-990 plus. The fact that it carries a price tag far below Rs. 10,000 should make it a decent deal for tech enthusiasts.
The front panel of the device is draped with a 7-inch screen. Packed with 1GB RAM, it houses 4GB internal memory that can be expanded via a slot provided for a 32GB microSD card. Tipping the scales at 380 grams, it is touted to carry a long battery life. In terms of connectivity, the Android 4.0 slab offers Wi-Fi and entails a USB port on its exterior for connecting alternative peripherals or 3G USB dongles. Additionally, there is a micro-USB slot as well as an HDMI port for streaming content to large screen HDTVs.

A front-facing 0.3MP camera that supports video recording is affixed to the slate for video conferencing. ICS runs the complete show here, while the tablet gets its processing fuel from a 1.5GHz CPU. The company has also partnered with BigFlix and Ibibo to cater to users’ movie and gaming preferences. Social networking apps like Twitter, Facebook and Skype stay right in place along with Google utilities like Gmail, Gtalk, Picasa and others.
The Zync Z-990 plus price in India is revealed to be Rs. 6,490. It is now available at various sales channels and via online retailers in the country.
