ZTE Grand XMax 6-inch Android 4.4 KitKat phone announced in the US

The all-new ZTE Grand XMax ohablet takes the game to another level with its large form factor combined with a tempting price of just $199.99 without a contract, on pre-paid carrier Cricket Wireless. The Chinese company is hellbent on making a ‘big’ impression in the US market and had rolled out a 5.7-inch ZMax handset only last month.

With the ZTE Grand XMax, the brand continues its assault on the phablet segment stateside. Considering the cost at which it is being offered, the phone doesn’t deliver any pleasant surprises unless you count its extremely slim side profile of 7.8mm. The plastic exterior lets you down a little until you go back to reminding yourself of its price once again.

And then there’s the fact that the Grand XMax handset comes with Android 4.4 KitKat from the start so you don’t have to worry about getting it from a carrier who’s never caught amongst the first ones to deliver software updates to users. Another interesting feature of this ZTE handset is its massive 3200mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0 tech for powering it up in a jiffy.

ZTE Grand XMax smartphone key specs:

– Android KitKat 4.4 OS
– 6-inch 720p LCD touchscreen
– Quad core 1.2GHz Snapdragon chip
– 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, 32GB expandability
– 8MP main camera, 1MP front lens
– 3200mAh battery

As you can see, the XMax has 1GB of RAM to help it hobble alongside the quad core Qualcomm processor that can be found under the hood. The ZTE smartphone doesn’t make the most of its screen estate and only goes up to 720p HD. It has 8GB of inbuilt memory as well as a microSD card slot for adding 32GB extra space. An 8MP camera with LED flash and HD video shooting is present on its rear.

The ZTE Grand XMax will be hitting Cricket Wireless this October 10 at the aforementioned contract-free price of $199.
