YotaPhone 2 dual-screen phone being readied for unveiling on December 3

The launch of the YotaPhone 2 has been on the anvil since long and we finally have official word that this dual-screen handset will be unveiled by its makers on December 3. The launch will take place at a special event in London. A peek at the device’s final design has been revealed by the company through the image you will find posted in the space below.

The YotaPhone 2 will of course, act as successor to last year’s model which pioneered the whole dual-screen hoopla. At MWC 2014 this year, a prototype of the newly designed successor was unveiled for the first time, and we’re guessing most of the specs on this handset will be kept unchanged.

The selling point of the YotaPhone, its dual-screen nature, has been enhanced on its successor. Firstly, its rear e-Ink display too will be touch-sensitive this time around. Moreover, you’ll be able to use it for tasks other than just reading, which will help you save a lot of battery by keeping the main screen in sleep mode. You’ll even be able to place calls, send texts, emails and more on this panel.

Here’s a clear look at the kind of specs the YotaPhone 2’s prototype:

– Display: 5-inch AMOLED (Primary), 4.7-inch E Ink (Secondary)
– OS: Android
– Processor: 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800
– GPU: Adreno 330
– Memory: 2GB RAM, 32GB storage
– Camera: 8MP rear, 2MP front
– Battery: 2550mAh
– Dimensions: 144 x 69.5 x 8.9mm
– Weight: 140gms

The predecessor of the YotaPhone 2 is now available for purchase in India exclusively via Flipkart in exchange of Rs 23499. Like we said, the new smartphone will be unveiled on December 3, so stay tuned until then to know more about it, especially its price details.
