Today’s new Indian smartphone launch is the Xolo Prime which looks like a worthy competitor to Micromax’s Canvas Spark device that’s making quite a splash with its weekly flash sales. The new handset bears a price tag of just Rs 5699 which is just a tad bit more than what the Micromax gadget is asking for.

While smartphone manufacturers these days are trying to make the 5-inch display a standard, this one has gone ahead and grabbed a 4.5-inch monitor. The IPS panel on the Xolo Prime offers its visuals in a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It is surrounded by a glass finished body that gives a unique look to the exteriors.

One more distinguishing factor of the handset is the fact that it runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The Prime is of course a dual SIM 3G offering, and it features the combination of a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582M processor and 1GB of RAM inside it.
