Xiaomi Redmi Note vs Asus Zenfone 5: Face off

The Xiaomi Redmi Note has few competitors in the Indian market if you consider its tempting price of Rs 9999 and the features it packs in. Its launch is due on December 2, if our reckoning is right, but here’s to all you impatient folks who want to know whether the Asus Zenfone 5 A501CG is a good option.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note is the company’s attempt at pleasing lovers of big handsets with a larger screen phone than what it has previously let loose on these shores. The device carries a 5.5-inch touchscreen of 1280 x 720p resolution and an octa core processor from MediaTek.

If you compare the specifications of the Redmi Note to those of the Asus device, you’ll see that the former comes with a slightly bigger panel, albeit of the same 720p resolution. Flipkart notes that the latter has 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, in addition to 64GB microSD card support. The Xiaomi phone only has 32GB of expandable storage.

It also sports a 13MP camera on its rear side and a 5MP lens above its display. The Zenfone settles for an 8MP snapper on its back and a basic 2MP one for clicking selfies or making video calls.
