The highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi Pad has finally gone up for sale in India and unlike most of the devices from the company, you do not need to register to purchase the slate. Also, the flash sale approach hasn’t been implemented for the device as yet which is great for potential customers.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad is the first tablet from the Chinese giant and it could soon see a new sibling. The device may no doubt be cheap with a price tag of just Rs 12999, but it is one of the most powerful options on the market. It comes with a quad core Tegra K1 processor, the 32-bit version of the chip found on the Nexus 9, and offers a clock speed of 2.2GHz.
The device also packs a pretty good display of 7.9 inches. The panel is an IPS one with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. And to complement the high performance CPU and the high resolution display, Xiaomi has also thrown in a pretty large battery of 6700mAh which is capable of up to 11 hours of video streaming, 86 hours of music playback or around 17 hours of reading.

The Mi Pad also has high quality cameras where the front packs a 5MP selfie shooter and the rear has an 8MP snapper, albeit there’s no LED flash. Other features of the tablet include 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 128GB microSD expandability, Wi-Fi ac and Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6.
