WickedLeak has announced that the Wammy Passion Y is all prepped to accept an update to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which customers will receive through a ROM upgrade. The devices that will be shipped henceforth will be pre-loaded with this latest software version.
The boost to the newest edition of the Jelly Bean platform will be resulting in quite a few enhancements, with one of them being support for wireless display. Through this, users can share their screen with those of compatible devices. One of the lesser mentioned attributes of the OS is the Day Dream mode, which is essentially just a screensaver that users can customize according to their liking.
The keyboard will now be empowered with Swipe, which allows consumers to simply glide their fingers over the pad in order to form words. Notifications can be previewed from the drop down menu, jettisoning the need of opening up each alert. Users can even perform actions from the bar itself such as replying to text messages.
The upgrade will also be lugging along improvements directed towards the snapper, settings menu and widgets. Google Now equips those who depend on their smartphone for practically everything, with relevant news throughout the day, by popping up cards with updates related to traffic and the weather amongst others. GPS will now work in conjunction with the camera to display information with pictures.
For those who aren’t privy to the specifics of the budget phablet, a 1.2GHz quad core MTK6589 cortex A7 processor and 1GB of RAM join forces to work towards the performance of the device. The maker has allocated 4GB of flash memory that can be extended up to 32GB via a microSD slot. A 5-inch capacitive display takes up most of the space on the front panel which manages to house a 5MP shooter on it as well. The primary means of capturing pictures and videos is an 8MP rear camera.
The Android 4.2 update for the WickedLeak Wammy Passion Y is currently being sent out and the device is selling for a price of Rs. 15,499, exclusive of taxes on the official website. The company has announced that the Titan 2 will also soon be subjected to the upgrade.
