Walmart to release BlackBerry Curve 8520 for $50

Blackberry Curve 8520 There were speculations earlier that the BlackBerry Curve 8520 will be released by Walmart on August 5. Now Mobilewhack reports that this device will carry a price tag of $50.

The smartphone possesses a 320 x 240 resolution color display, 2 MP camera and 3.5 mm stereo headset jack. The camera comes with zoom as well as video recording capabilities. It is the first BlackBerry smartphone comprising of media keys located at the top of the smartphone along with the BlackBerry Media Sync. Additional features are WiFi, quad-band GSM and RIM’s OS 5.0, 256 megabytes of internal memory and 1150mAh battery.

Incorporating a full-QWERTY keyboard, the device enables easy typing along with navigation through the touch-sensitive optical trackpad. The smartphone provides 256MB flash memory and 512 MHz processor in addition to other features. Users can access uninterrupted and speedy internet service as the smartphone offers Wi-Fi connectivity. Furthermore, voice activated dialing, 2.0 Bluetooth support for hands-free use with headsets, car kits, stereo headsets and other Bluetooth peripherals are integrated by the mobile phone.

T-Mobile retail stores, Wal-Mart Stores, select authorized dealers will offer the BlackBerry Curve 8520 from August 5, 2009 onwards for a price of $50.
