WalkingHotspot Software With the latest software ‘WalkingHotSpot’, you can now convert your 3G mobile phone into a Wi-Fi router. The Software released by TapRoot Systems in North Carolina is compatible with any Symbian S60 or Windows Mobile smartphone.

Using the WalkingHotSpot software, just connect the mobile to any Wi-Fi-enabled device such as a notebook and the phone acts as a Wi-Fi router. This software is accessible by any mobile broadband phone, however only HSDPA/UMTS based phones will be able to utilize WalkingHotSpot and voice calls simultaneously.

The software is currently unavailable directly to customers as TapRoot has plans of selling this software to Mobile Network Service providers. This may result in some charges or may be free, which is left to the discretion of the relevant service provider.
