Vodafone reduces data roaming charges

Vodafone logo Vodafone customers have a reason to be happy about. According to Techradar, the company has announced that it is cutting down the cost of data roaming overseas by introducing a new tariff plan. Now customers of the company’s connect abroad plan will be charged £8 per day. This will be applicable for wireless data roaming service through a laptop in selected countries and networks.

This deal will be apt for Vodafone subsidiary networks in Europe, Egypt, Australia and New Zealand plus partner networks in France, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium. Laptop users can utilize up to 50MB data everyday through the Connect Abroad service. They can indulge in various activities like browsing the web, checking emails, etc. This service is not applicable for VoIP use.

Customers can access the service through a laptop data card, USB modem, SIM-enabled laptop or even a mobile phone. Without paying any charge, users can start using the service by simply signing up for it. Through the USB modem or the Vodafone Connect 3D broadband data card, users can make use of 3G and HSDPA enabled networks even out of UK.

This service will be compatible with only select affiliated networks so users need to verify before traveling. Users can also attain cheap rates if right network is opted for and will be charged extra if the limit exceeds. If they go beyond the pre-allotted 50MB data limit then they will be charged according to per-MB rate.

This new plan by Vodafone will save a lot of money for users who often access the internet on the go.
