Vodafone launches ‘Be Smart’ initiative in India to expand 3G user base

Vodafone has been in and out of the news a lot of late, especially for tailoring its schemes to fit consumer needs. Although it has paid careful attention to its 2G user base so far, it now wishes to expand its reach amongst 3G customers as well. This is probably why, Vodafone has now launched the ‘Be Smart’ campaign to enlighten its current as well as prospective customers about the significance of 3G.

It plans to go about with this project in three simple steps. For starters, the company has claimed that the initiative employs well-known mobile apps as a medium to engage people with a view to deliver the carrier’s message ‘Smartphones are incomplete without Vodafone 3G’. It then proceeds to educate them about the various perks of the Internet schemes.

And finally, the Be Smart program will also permit customers to optimize the functions of their smartphone, be it watching a video online or using GPS. The main idea behind this is to render a quality-driven experience.

To give users a taste of what they might be in for, the network provider has also released a light digital advertisement. This commercial appears while a video is still loading and lets users know that if they had subscribed to the telecom operator’s service, there wouldn’t have been any need to wait for the clip to start playing.

Considering that many in the country tend to be budget conscious when looking for an Internet scheme, Vodafone offers its 3G data packs at a starting price of Rs 44. Subscribing to this scheme will put forth 150MB of data, usable for a week. Those who believe that this might prove insufficient to fulfill their browsing needs, can pick from more than 15 offers.
