Vlingo InCar App augments the convenience factor

Vlingo InCar App This new offering claims to be a secure and simple way to connect with people and activities which are essential while on the move. Vlingo has unleashed an exciting beta version of the Vlingo InCar app which promises to captivate several Android users.

The innovative ‘Vlingo Answers’ function enables users to ask questions to their device and receive appropriate answers which are intuitively read out loudly. Handset owners can seamlessly press the Vlingo widget to access a wide array of functions. Users can send text and e-mail messages, search the web with Google or Yahoo!, easily update Facebook and Twitter status, access integrated apps with utmost ease and speak into any app using the Vlingo Everywhere voice keyboard.

“Vlingo InCar was a natural extension of Vlingo’s functionality so that users can now have an alternative, hands free way to communicate when they need to respond to an urgent message,” commented Dave Grannan, president and CEO at Vlingo. “Although 30 states presently have full or partial bans on texting while driving (TWD), data from Vlingo’s Texting While Driving in America 2010 Report shows that 35% of those surveyed still continue to TWD. Legislative action is an important step but clearly laws are not enough, we are going to need technology solutions.”

Moreover, the SafeReader feature helps users safely listen to incoming text and e-mail messages while on-the-go. The enticing SuperDialer function enables individuals to call various numbers in their address book and access reviews, maps and directions as per their requirements.

Android 2.1 owners can download the app for free from the Android Market. The app beta version is also available through Sprint Now Network and functions easily with the HTC Evo and Android 2.2 devices.
