Vivo X5 Max world’s slimmest phone reaching India this December 15

The Vivo X5 Max which happily claims the title of the world’s slimmest phone, is coming to India on December 15. A press invite for the event which is to be held in New Delhi, has winged its way into our inbox. But it doesn’t offer that one crucial detail about this 4.75mm thin handset.

That’s right, we’ve still to get an idea of how much the Vivo X5 Max will cost, though it’s not likely to sell for the kind of premium rate the Apple iPhone commands. We now have a better picture of the handset (literally and figuratively), since it was unveiled in China on December 10.

The launch in India is a big deal for Vivo too considering that it will be following other Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo into the country only now. The company has apparently thrust a 1.7mm thin motherboard into the X5 Max in order to keep its profile so sleek.

On top of that, the Vivo X5 Max has a chassis which goes just 3.98mm deep. Its 5.5-inch display is supposedly the slimmest you can find in the market, being only 1.36mm thin. Despite all of this, a 3.5mm earphone jack has made its way onto the device, something even the Oppo R5 didn’t manage.

Vivo X5 Max features at a run:

– 1.7GHz 64-bit octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor
– 5.5-inch 1080p full HD touchscreen
– Android 4.4.4 OS layered with Vivo Funtouch 2.0
– 13MP (Sony sensor) and 5MP cameras
– 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 128GB microSD card support
– Dual SIM slots (micro-SIM and nano-SIM/TF card)
– 146gm, 153.9 x 78 x 4.75mm
