Verizon Wireless now brings an Android device for its subscribers in the form of the HTC Droid Eris. This innovative HTC handset seamlessly integrates the Android OS and HTC Sense technology, presenting a unique mobile experience.
The HTC Droid Eris boasts of a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen and trackball interface. The mobile phone is equipped with a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera. The Android powered handset facilitates users to customize a seven-panel wide homescreen with a host of widgets. The handset supports USB mass storage, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3.5 mm headset connectivity.
The Droid Eris incorporates Google services like Google Maps, Gmail, Google Search and more. The device is inclusive of innovative ‘scenes’ feature, by means of which users can create multiple homescreens, each with different widgets and shortcuts. It is equipped with an integrated GPS and a digital compass with a sensor. Further it packages a full HTML browser with Flash Lite capabilities. With the Smart dialer feature, dialing by name, number or initials is also made possible.
Droid Eris by HTC can be purchased via Verizon Wireless Communications Stores or online for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement on a voice plan with an e-mail feature or e-mail plan. Mail-in rebate will be provided in the form of a debit card.
