Verizon Wireless to launch HTC Predator and Imagio

HTC Whitestone Handset

It looks like the phone world is waiting for October 6, 2009. The day seems to be full of activities, it would also mark the introduction of Windows Mobile 6.5 driven smartphones.

Seemingly, the HTC Imagio (model number XV6975) which has been previously known as the Whitestone will be launched by Verizon on October 6, reports IntoMobile. The Imagio sports a 5 megapixel camera and supports dual-mode CDMA/GSM. Reportedly, the Windows Mobile driven mobile phone is built with an 800 x 480 resolution WVGA touchscreen. Apparently, the handset offers 3G connectivity, GPS navigation and Wi-Fi support.

The HTC mobile phone may be equipped with 528MHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM. This Android powered HTC phone is not far behind its Windows Mobile sibling and will be launched around next month via the same network carrier, Verizon. The handset is known as the Predator, however there are rumors which state that it may be the HTC PR17 that was approved by the Bluetooth SIG some time ago, featuring Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and A2DP. The specifications of the Predator are unknown as of now.

The pricing details of both HTC mobile phones are still under wraps.
