Sony Ericsson Yari

The Sony Ericsson Yari was expected to reach markets by Q4, 2009 and now the latest news states that the phone has been approved by the FCC. The handset will also be known as the Sony Ericsson U100a reports Techfresh.

The innovative Sony Ericsson handset packages gesture control technology that takes mobile phone gaming to new horizons. Reportedly, the Yari is built with a 2.4-inch display that offers 240 × 320 resolution. The slider phone is driven by UMTS Bands 1, 2, and 5, and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900. The gaming-centric mobile phone sports a 5 megapixel camera with flash capability. It also incorporates a separate camera for video calls.

Some of the other features that the Sony Ericsson device carries include stereo speakers, Bluetooth, WiFi, and microSD memory expansion slot. Apparently, the Yari is equipped with a 1000mAh battery and offers talk time of up to 10 hrs for the GSM/GPRS device while the talktime of UMTS is up to 4.5hrs.

Since the U100a received a nod of approval from the FCC, it appears that the phone will hit the US stores in a short while. Neither the pricing nor the availability details of the Sony Ericsson Yari are disclosed.
