Verizon Samsung Zeal

Samsung seems to be releasing mobile phones almost every other day. Just yesterday, we reported on the Samsung Contour coming through MetroPCS. Today, Verizon Wireless and Samsung doff the silk off its Zeal, a dual-hinge flip-style handset. This black beauty has a dual-hinge form factor with the E Ink keyboard which changes according to the user’s needs.

Innovatively, the phone transforms into a traditional numeric keypad which can change into an alpha-only when opened vertically. Whereas, on flipping it open in landscape the device flaunts a QWERTY one that changes into a numeric one with symbols. With a 2.0 megapixel camera, photographers can make use of functionalities like a camcorder, auto focus as well as night and panorama shots.

It renders corporate email support to Microsoft Office Exchange allowing users to sync corporate e-mail, contacts and calendars through their office e-mail account. Offering Bluetooth technology, users may access basic print, basic imaging, phonebook, hands-free, stereo, headset, along with object push for vCard and vCalendar. The Social Beat Widget integrates social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace combined with more than 50 sports, news and entertainment feeds on one single platform. Receive turn-by-turn directions with the VZ Navigator.

The Zeal is Skype mobile and Mobile Web capable. The Media Center is loaded with downloadable games, wallpapers, location-based services, and ringtones among others. It furnishes a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional memory. The device hosts a suite of messaging options like Mobile IM, Mobile Email, Mobile Chat, and Mobile Web Email, apart from the normal text, picture, video and voice messaging.

The Samsung Zeal hits the shelves tomorrow on November 11, 2010 for $79.99. Users will have to pay for a $50 mail-in rebate and avail a fresh two-year contract. It can be procured from Verizon Wireless Communications Stores or online at verizonwireless.com.
