Verizon Wireless improves services with cell site in Salisbury, Connecticut

Verizon Wireless logo Verizon Wireless has enhanced its wireless voice and 3G coverage in Salisbury, Connecticut by setting up a new cell site in that area. It will provide mobile phone customers with faster web browsing speed and quicker page loading time.

Users can be well connected using the high-speed wireless broadband network with faster access to email, file downloads, etc. The average download speed is 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps and average upload speed is 500-800 Kbps. An email attachment can be downloaded and uploaded in about 8 seconds and 13 seconds, respectively. This email attachment will be of one megabyte which is equivalent to a small PowerPoint presentation or a large PDF file. There are numerous advantages with this new cell site like faster page loading, download and music playing capability.

Director for Network System Performance for Verizon Wireless, Richard Enright mentioned, “Verizon Wireless’ 3G network coverage across New England is unparalleled. We’ve invested billions of dollars into New England believing that even the most sophisticated cell phone is only as good as the network it runs on. Our continued aggressive network investments provide customers with a 3G network advantage at home and on vacation.”

Downloading and playing exciting 3D games gets easier while users can stay updated with on-demand videos on breaking news, weather, sports highlights and even the hottest entertainment clips. They can also indulge in video conference besides speedy sharing files. The V Cast Music uses the Rhapsody’s desktop service that provides unlimited access to music on mobile phones and also online on multiple PCs and Web browsers. Users can also purchase music over-the-air by downloading the master copy of the songs or albums.

The company has invested approximately $50 billion to improve the wireless voice and data coverage as well as to include new 3G services such as Mobile Broadband and V CAST. In the last nine years they have invested nearly $2.4 billion into its New England network including $240 million in 2008 alone.
