The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3, that was initially slated to be made available through retail stores from July 10, has been delayed by two whole days. The news hardly comes as a surprise, considering that this is not the first time the Korean manufacturer has pushed back the availability of its flagship smartphone.

But as Engadget mentions, all shipments of the phone have not been postponed by the service provider. Some of those who pre-ordered the device have already received their respective S3s, while the handset is on its way to knock on others’ doors. It is already available in the US through carriers like Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile.

Not long ago, Sprint users who were expecting their third generation Galaxy S device had to face disappointment when its shipping date was pushed back. And the US was certainly not the only country to see this, as people in Canada and the UK also had to wait before they could get a taste of the Ice Cream Sandwich-based Samsung offering.

For refresher’s sake, this smartphone will enter the US with 2GB RAM and a 1.5GHz dual core processor instead of the quad core Exynos chipset. Its 4.8-inch Super AMOLED high definition touchscreen has been reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass to withstand scratches. The handset’s 1.9MP webcam lets users engage in video conferencing and its 8MP primary imager allows capturing high resolution images and videos.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 price is tagged at $199.99 and it should be available from July 12.
