The much talked about Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now being offered by online retail giant Amazon at a heavily discounted price. It can be ordered online for $99.99 which is a rate that is $200 less than what the network carrier is currently offering.

This deal seems to be a good catch for those who could not afford to get their hands on the advanced smartphone and have waited patiently for a sale like this. Released in September last year along with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, it was the first handset to run on the new generation mobile platform.

Fueled by a 1.2GHz dual core application processor and 1GB RAM, the Google smartphone boasts of a 4.65-inch 1280 x 720p HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display. It comes embedded with a 1.3MP front facing snapper and a 5MP rear facing camera featuring LED flash, auto focus and 1080p full HD video recording capabilities.

The Samsung mobile device is incorporated with 32GB internal memory for users to store their multimedia content. Interesting features like Face Unlock and Android Beam are some of the highlights of the Galaxy Nexus. While the former employs the users’ face as a screen unlocking password, the latter facilitates the easy sharing of videos, web pages, contacts, apps and such other content through NFC technology.
