BlackBerry has entered into a collaboration with Verizon Wireless to set the release date of the Q10 in the US, just like it has done with T-Mobile and the first BB10 smartphone touting a QWERTY keypad will be made available at a price of $199.99 through the big red carrier. As is obvious, buyers will benefit from this amount only if the device is purchased together with the service provider’s 2-year contract.
Apart from the aforementioned region, the BlackBerry Q10 has been made available in various other markets including the UK and its arrival is imminent in certain countries, one of which is India. The phone has emerged after being splashed with two colors, namely white and black. It houses a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED display showing off visuals at a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels.
Adopting the company’s age-old tradition, the device can be seen donning a 4-row QWERTY keypad on its face, while its flip side has been graced with an 8MP camera featuring auto focus and an LED flash. Internally, the handset gains momentum from a 1.5GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor. Other components residing under the hood cover 2GB of RAM and a 2,100mAh battery.
Memory-wise, the handset allows expansions of up to 64GB, lest the inbuilt hoarding space of 16GB falls short. And on account of the aforementioned Li-ion power pack’s inclusion, the gadget should hold the ability to run for up to 21 hours or 16 days in the event it has been left on standby.
Commencing today, the BlackBerry Q10 will be up for pre-order through the red carrier and it will eventually be released on June 6, which is a day after the other network provider begins selling the handset at a starting price of $99.99. The latter telecom operator pulling its famous Uncarrier act has refrained from demanding buyers to sign an agreement, gluing the handset with its Simple Choice Plan instead.
