Unstoppable Gorg storms onto iPad

Futuremark Unstoppable Gorg 01

Chalked out from popular sci-fi movies of the 1950s, Futuremark’s Unstoppable Gorg has hit the Apple App Store in a lite version. This tower defense title constitutes 4 challenge levels and 4 story chapters along with the endless arcade mode attained from the complete game.

The gameplay involves rescuing the solar system from threatening aliens by deploying satellites into orbit. Steering away from the sort of playability offered by a lot of current tower defense games, this title allows people to move the satellites by rotating the orbits that enfold planets, space stations and moons. To top it all, the developers have attempted to enhance the experience with the inclusion of 3D graphics and effects.

The game draws its inspiration from classic sci-fi movies that were the rage in the 1950s. In terms of cliches, it claims to have it all in the form of dodgy effects, flying saucers and rubbery aliens. The story scenes have been shot on film by means of miniatures, models and actors. All these elements were then meshed in with real archive video footage to develop a sci-fi experience that could be rather interesting to watch.

The lite version of Unstoppable Gorg is free for iPad and it is up for download through iTunes. The game requires players to have iOS 3.2 or higher downloaded onto their Apple tablets. Additionally, it is available for Mac and PC users from the Mac App Store and Steam, respectively.
