For those who prefer not binding themselves to carrier contracts, the unlocked iPhone 5 price in the US has shown up via the company’s compare tool along with the official costs for the UK and Canada. Recently, the online retailer Kogan put the handset up for pre-order in Australia at a starting price of AU$699.

Most are aware of the fact that the device will be hitting the market in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions paired with services offered by selected network providers. The 16GB smartphone will sell in the US at $649, while the other two variants are slated to be available at a street price of $749 and $849, respectively. This should provide customers with a whole new range of options to select from including network providers, hoarding capacity, color alternatives and certain services that will differ from carrier to carrier.
