The official Twitter blog has disclosed the latest version of Twitter for Android. The updated app could give Android phone users who are avid fans of the social networking site a reason to cheer with its new features like Push notifications and multiple accounts.
Via the Push notifications feature, users can immediately receive Twitter updates, regardless of what they may be doing on their phone at any point of time. For this users have to select ‘automatic refresh’ from their account settings and choose to receive updates for direct messages, @mentions and tweets.
This new update also incorporates support for multiple accounts. Multiple accounts are used by people who have more than one Twitter account like a work account along with a personal account. The feature allows users to manage more than one Twitter feed without signing out and back in.
As per the official twitter blog, the update has made the app faster in operation. Also the look of the home screen widgets has been upgraded and other improvements and bug fixes have been added.
The updated version of Twitter for Android can be downloaded from the Android Market. Those who have the previous version already will receive an automatic update.
