TV Signals will soon be available for Mobile Phone Users in the US

TV broadcasters Available On Mobile Phone As we all know mobile phones have become a part of life. So very soon, TV broadcasters will be able to transmit signals to electronics like mobile phones in the US.

As of now, technology is challenging mobile phone carriers who want to take on the market for mobile TV with their own transmissions.

“This is going to let broadcasters get back in the game.”stated Howard Lance, chairman and chief executive of Harris, who makes broadcasting equipment.

But there is a doubt that Mobile Pedestrian Handheld (MPH) receivers which are developed by LG in the mobile phones will be able to make up in the US market which is captured by the carriers.

MPH is suitable for other portable devices which include media players, navigation devices and laptops. As the cost to built TV reception capabilities would be minimal, commented LG’s president and chief technology officer, Woo Paik.

Lance added, “Realize the great opportunity out there in reaching customers who are now more and more on the move.”

Lance also said that field trials of MPH in Chicago and Washington had been conducted this year while broad coverage is planned for 2009.

There are competing technologies with this which include MediaFLO, developed by Qualcomm Inc. and deployed by Verizon Wireless, and DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld), championed by Nokia Corp. and adopted overseas.
