Here’s an announcement from Truphone for all those worried about high costs incurred while on the roaming service. Truphone reveals its plan of launching Truphone Local Anywhere, a single SIM multi-country mobile service at Mobile World Congress 2009.
The Truphone Local Anywhere will allow users to enjoy calling their friends within selected countries at local call rates. The introduction of this service will enhance a user’s mobile calling experience and keep them connected. The implementation of this service will reduce the need to switch between multiple SIMs, change mobile phones or incur expensive mobile bills.
In addition to this, the new service allows friends, family and business associates to call on any number making every international call cost same as a local cost.
“Until now, the only way to avoid the massive cost of mobile roaming is to carry multiple phones and multiple SIM cards, one for each country you frequent,” says Truphone CEO Geraldine Wilson. “This means juggling multiple devices and phone numbers to avoid paying the high roaming rates traditionally associated with travel.
The Truphone Local Anywhere service saves around 80% on roaming charges and does not include roaming surcharges for incoming calls in most areas. The plan also offers low calling rates to other Truphone Local Anywhere customers.
In case of any problem with the service, users can always contact the multi-language customer support service. The service is particularly designed to meet the needs of frequent travelers like pilots, cruise ship captains, tourism professionals, professional expatriate, international students and business people.
The Truphone Local Anywhere service will be available in the second half of 2009.
