Touchnote, an application which enables handset owners to send physical postcards to any country in the world has been released for all major platforms like iPhone, Symbian and Android. So wondering what’s new in this software? Well, nothing of the usual sorts like an upgraded version or an additional enticing feature. It’s something out of the blue, the company has been chosen as one of the Windows Phone 7 launch partners as one of the showcase apps.The company claims that it is one of the few of UK-based companies selected.
“Working with Microsoft was a real collaboration – we talked through many of the different features with them to make sure that we delivered an app that really takes advantage of the new platform. It was really refreshing that the Windows Phone team spent a lot of time with us – helping us with our build, providing feedback and stamping out bugs. That’s not something that their competitors often do in our experience,” said Raam Thakrar, CEO of Touchnote.
“Touchnote lets you take a photo with your phone and then post it as a postcard anywhere in the world. I love it because it’s easier, quicker, cheaper and more personal than sending a regular postcard, especially when I’m traveling outside the UK. And their Windows Phone 7 app looks amazing,” commented Oded Ran, Head of Consumer Marketing, Windows Phone UK, Microsoft.
Sending postcards is very simple with the Touchnote app, all that users have to do is take a photo and add-in a message. These cards are priced $1.49 onwards. The company offers various payment alternatives including Google Checkout or mobile operator billing. In UK itself, the postcard is usually delivered by the next working day, if the user has ordered before noon.
This feature rich unique Touchnote application can be procured on all the smartphones housing the freshly released Windows Phone 7 operating system. Users may avail this service to send out cards anywhere in this world be it nay country.
