The HTC One S Jelly Bean update has started to roll out to customers in the UK through Three. The phone will automatically check for the upgrade and users will be notified when the latest firmware is available.
News of the Android 4.1 platform being released for the One S has been confirmed through the official Three UK Twitter account. Users who haven’t purchased their phones from the carrier would have to manually check for the updates to experience the latest environment. One of the enhancements that will now find place in the handset would be expandable and rich notifications, through which more information regarding the alert would be visible to the user.
Consumers will be able send music, pictures and other data across to other phones using NFC through Beam. On the inside, the device runs on a 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon processor which uses 1GB of RAM as its support to facilitate multitasking. Customers would be provided with 16GB of internal memory and can further extend it through the microSD slot. To enable long hours of talking and utilization, a 1650mAh capacity battery has been fitted into the handset.
The 5MP lens that has been fixed onto the rear of the phone allows users to click pictures whilst shooting a video owing to the VideoPic feature. The snapper also comes packed with features like autofocus, a BSI sensor and an LED flash. For face-to-face chatting, a VGA shooter has been placed front panel.
Connectivity on this smartphone is enabled through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. With a weight of only 120 grams and dimensions measuring 130.9mm x 65mm x 7.8mm, this handset also contains proximity, gyro and light sensors.
Three UK is sending out the Jelly Bean update for the HTC One S and users should be able to see the alert on their handsets. However, the carrier hasn’t made any mention of other enhancements that would be accompanying the latest platform.
