The Nokia Lumia 505 will be introduced in the land of Mexico through Telcel in the weeks to come. It seems like the Finnish company has been trying to extend its devices to people from all walks of life by introducing entry-level Windows Phone handsets.
Not long after Microsoft announced the upcoming launch of Windows Phone 7.8, the Lumia 505 is all set to descend into the Mexican region tagging the OS along. There is no chance that the device will be receiving a WP8 upgrade. However, some of its features including resizable Live Tiles have been picked up by the 7.8 edition.
The smartphone’s specifications have already appeared on the company’s official website. A 3.7-inch AMOLED ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen display takes over the front panel and possesses a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Even though there is no front-facing camera, the handset offers users an 8MP snapper allowing 6x digital zoom.
What can be considered as one of the drawbacks is that in spite of providing only 4GB of storage, there is no slot to facilitate expansion. With regards to system memory, 256MB of RAM has been fitted within the 131gm device to assist the processor while taking on various tasks.
Coming to the connectivity features, the handset packs Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for accessing the internet, Bluetooth 2.1 for sharing content wirelessly and GPS for navigation. The duty to keep the phone functioning is left to a 1,300mAh battery which is capable of providing 7.2 hours of talk time or 600 hours of standby to 3G users. At the same time, those who own 2G phones will benefit from 7.3 hours of talk time or 670 hours of standby, respectively.
Even though the price and release date haven’t been pointed out, the Nokia Lumia 505 should be out in Mexico through Telcel within a few weeks, drenched in black, red and pink. A post on WPCentral remarks that the country will also play audience to the launch of the Lumia 510 shortly.
