Tata Jamvee video conferencing service introduced

The Tata Jamvee video conferencing service has been announced and the company stresses on the fact that this particular utility can be accessed from absolutely any device, regardless of the OS it runs. The on-demand application allows multiple users to join a conference through a Telepresence room or using gadgets like desktops, laptops, mobile phones, tablets and more.

The service has no limitations whatsoever, because of the fact that it is a cloud-based app and is delivered via the only fibre optic cable ring that goes around the world. If the company is to be believed, the application highly simplifies video conferencing and even brings it on par with its audio counterpart. And this is mainly because it operates wit the assistance of the aforementioned undersea cable network.

Currently, Tata Jamvee is compatible with Windows-, Mac OS X- and iOS-based devices and those using Android phones or tablets will be able to join in from August 2013. It also works in tandem with video conferencing software such as Microsoft Lync and systems like Immersive Telepresence. As many as 46 members can join a conference at the same time.

In order to start a meeting, the host is required to get PINs from the application and send it to people who are supposed to join the conversation. Members can head over to the dedicated portal or download the application and all they need to do is dial a number, enter the PIN they received and they will be good to go.
