Tata Docomo dishes out unlimited calling plan costing Rs 1,299

Tata Docomo has launched a new plan in India which practically eliminates the boundaries for users to limit their calling to. With its new unlimited calling plan which has been priced at Rs 1,299 per month – only on postpaid basis – CDMA consumers will be able to enjoy limitless calling to mobile and landline networks. And that’s not all; local as well as STD calls will be allowed under the scheme.

Those who subscribe to this new plan from Tata Docomo will even be able to grab the benefits of up to 3GB worth of data. Moreover, they will be granted a total of 3000 free local and national text messages every month. An international message will cost Rs 5 as per this plan.

After reaching the 3GB usage on mobile data, users will need to shell out Rs 0.30 per MB. Furthermore, if they happen to run out of their 3,000 free messages, Re 1 will be charged for each local message and Rs. 1.50 for a national one. And while all the calls will indeed be free, if users are roaming on other networks, they will incur Re 1 per minute for incoming calls and Rs 1.50 per minute for local and STD outgoing calls.

In such a scenario, using data will be liable to 10p per 10KB. Ramakrishna S, who’s the chief operating officer at the Andhra Pradesh circle of the network provider, has revealed that this new plan comes with the ‘strategic intent’ of making the Tata Docomo brand relevant for the high value customers.
