T-Mobile UK New iPad 01

The new iPad has hooked itself onto T-Mobile UK as one of its network carriers. Commercially released on March 16, the Apple device also sells through O2, Three, Vodafone and Orange in the UK.

Unveiled on March 7, the tablet began shipping in the UK, the U.S. and eight other countries on March 16, which was a week later. Successor to the iPad 2, the latest one brings in features like a 2048 x 1536p Retina display, 4G LTE connectivity, 5MP iSight camera and more. It also boasts of an embedded A5X chip, a considerable upgrade from the A5 seen in the older version.

“New iPad customers will benefit from the widest 3G coverage in the UK and, with our advanced 3.5G roll out, they will also benefit from a really fast network” commented Pippa Dunn, consumer chief marketing officer, Everything Everywhere. “As a result, we’re definitely the number one place to go for those wanting the best all round performance on their new iPad”.

Although the gadget has been introduced in a 4G + LTE variant as well, it will be operating only over 3G or 3.5G connectivity on the T-Mobile UK network. This might just sound a little disappointing to some Apple fans. In addition to this, customers will not find the 64GB edition on the official T-Mobile page, leaving them with only 16GB and 64GB options.

The T-Mobile UK new iPad price tags for the 16GB and 32GB models read £229 and £279, respectively.
