T-Mobile types out Samsung Gravity 3, Gravity T and :) phones

We’ve seen Samsung belting out quite a few phones over the past week with the Captivate offered through AT&T being the most recent one. This time around its T-Mobile fans who are treated with a triplet of innovative messaging phones. They are offered a full QWERTY-keyboard phone line-up including the Samsung Gravity 3, Gravity T and Smiley phones.

These new Samsung phones will allow T-Mobile customers to seamlessly stay connected with loved ones via messaging. The two Samsung Gravity phones in particular have been fashioned to proffer easy messaging functionalities. Users can fix upon the handsets in two fabrications with both showing slide-out QWERTY keyboards and a full messaging suite. This includes Exchange, e-mail capability, contacts and calendar.

According to Paul Cole, vice president, devices and accessories, T-Mobile USA, “T-Mobile knows the importance of staying connected to friends and family through mobile messaging. With our portfolio of new affordable messaging phones, the whole family is sure to find one tailored to both their needs and desires.”

Users also gain uninterrupted access to the internet with popular SNSs put under one application namely the T-Mobile Social Buzz. Users have the choice to mark their presence for each site on separate screens or opt for an aggregated screen view including messages from various communities. Running the application in the background will still allow the latest updates to appear on the homescreen.

The Gravity 3 in addition is equipped with an external T9 keyboard along with the slide-out one. A customizable 2.8” touchscreen is revealed by the Gravity T. Both phones are further infused with a music player and an HTML browser. Supporting up to 16GB of expandable memory, the phones house a 2 megapixel camera and camcorder as well.

Messaging and chatting have definitely brought in a completely new lingo and Samsung sure knows how to put it to good use. The company incorporates the Smiley symbol for christening its latest phone. With a slide-up vertical QWERTY keypad, the handset has a slim, rounded-edge form factor. The phone comes complete with shortcuts dedicated to messaging applications counting text, video, picture, instant messaging, personal e-mail and Exchange. The phone’s user-friendly interface is said to be coupled with an integrated camera and camcorder, support for expandable memory and music player.

Thanks to T-Mobile’s web2go service, the trio buttress effortless internet access. Users can customize the Web homepage to include favorite websites, live news feeds and quick search results.

The Gravity 3, Gravity T and Samsung Smiley phones can be purchased from T-Mobile retail stores, online and through select dealers now. Reportedly the T will put users down by $74.99 with a new contract agreement for 2 years while the 3 appears to bear a price of $49.99 with a 2-yr contract. As for the Smiley, it is said to be sold for $19.99 on contract.
