T-Mobile G1 receives Trimble Outdoors GPS Navigation Tool

Trimble Outdoors Application T-Mobile G1 fans can go hiking, mountain-climbing and fishing with ease, thanks to Trimble, which utilizes the power of the T-Mobile phone’s Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. The Trimble Outdoors application is now available on the first phone for the Android open software platform, the G1. Outdoor activities can be conducted with more ease, thanks to this application which converts the G1 into a full-featured GPS navigator and geotagging tool.

The Trimble Outdoors application in combination with the Trimble Outdoors Website to offer a complete outdoor trip planning, navigation and geotagging solution. Through this application, users can review and plan trips online, send routes, maps and waypoints wirelessly to the G1 as well as use the phone as a full-featured GPS navigator to guide outdoor adventures. Additionally, users can capture experiences with geotagged pictures, text and audio notes that can be shared online via the Trimble site, Facebook and Google Earth. Users can also benefit form online logs, maps and countless trips posted by other users.
