Telstra announces the inclusion of six new Next G handsets to its collection, providing customers access to the latest and most advanced handset designs. The newly introduced handsets include the latest LG GM730f which can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5. The series also incorporate LG Xenon.

Both these LG phones are exclusive to Telstra. Further, it encompasses the TelstraOne Experience UI from Sony Ericsson and the HTC Touch Pro2 smartphone for skilled personnel.

“The new introductions to our Next G range give our customers more choice and access to exclusive handsets and even more ways to stay connected with people, entertainment and information on the go. Customers also have access to a wide range of content on the BigPond mobile portal such as sport, news, weather, games, BigPond TV and Mobile Foxtel from Telstra,” remarked Telstra Consumer Executive Director Glenice Maclellan.

The LG Xenon seems to be an ideal device for users who adore texting and accessing social networking sites. The handset comes with a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out facilitating users to text with accuracy. The 2.8” touchscreen makes viewing and sharing content an incredible experience. The handset facilitates users to browse mobile internet sites, update their social network page, watch BigPond TV clips and view photos in detail.

The Xenon comes with a built in 2 megapixel camera with flash and video recording. The mobile device features 80MB of memory that can be expanded up to 16GB. The LG Xenon is available in two colors; the Black one will be available from 14 July, 2009 whereas the ‘Blue Jean’ would be available from July 28, 2009.

“From cutting-edge entertainment handsets, mobiles with advanced business functions through to mobiles that can be highly personalized, offer high-speed mobile web browsing or deliver superior handheld regional coverage, there is something to suit everyone’s needs in our latest offering,” commented Telstra Product Management Executive Director Ross Fielding.

Telstra presents the LG GM730f, an ultra-slim smartphone powered by Windows Mobile. The handset features push email, high-speed 7.2Mbps-rated HSDPA mobile internet speeds for web browsing. The GM730f presents 3-inch touchscreen, MP3 player and 5 megapixel camera. To top it all, it includes LG’s new S-Class user interface. The interface presents an interactive, easy-to-use menu. The LG GM730f is designed to multitask with a cascading window, which permits users to swap between multiple applications running in the background effortlessly. The handset also encompasses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and video calling capabilities.

The HTC Touch Pro2 smartphone is exclusive to Telstra until 31 July. The handset offers a full slide-out horizontal QWERTY keyboard. Emailing becomes handy with the huge 3.6-inch WVGA tilt display. Being Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional phone, users can view Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. The HTC Touch Pro2 is supposedly amongst one of the first smartphones that will be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5.

Geared with the HTC Touch Flo technology, it presents a touch-friendly user interface with a touch zoom bar for quicker zooming of Web pages, emails, text messages and documents. The Touch Pro2 features GPS navigation and 7.2Mbps-rated HSDPA mobile internet speed capability for mobile Web browsing. When flipped over, the HTC Touch Pro2 automatically turns into a conference room speakerphone, which enables up to five users with hi-fi voice and sound enhanced by asymmetric speakers.

Another addition to the Telstra collection is the Sony Ericsson Walkman phone dubbed W995. This handset includes Sony’s revolutionarily clear audio experience technology. The Walkman phone is packaged with premium headphones and supports 8GB of storage. It is built with an 8.1 megapixel camera along with flash. The handset features Track ID application that facilitates users to identify their favorite music tracks. Furthermore, the application is integrated with BigPond Music that allows users to purchase music. The W995 is customizable owing to its TelstraOne Experience user interface that permits users to organize one-click access to the mobile phone features, applications and services that are frequently used.

Sony Ericsson W508 seems to be an ultimate music phone that is reasonable too. One of its prominent features is the Motion Controlled Walkman MP3 player with dedicated music buttons on the flip handset’s fascia. The handset also includes 3.2 megapixel camera and video calling functionality. The handset’s looks can be played with interchangeable color covers.

The W508 also features the TelstraOne Experience user interface that facilitates users to personalize their MyPlace menu including all the services and applications they like to use such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and mobile web accounts like Windows Live Hotmail and Yahoo!7 Mail. These services can be easily accessed with just ‘one-click’. The phone is also Telstra Blue Tick coverage performance-rated, recommending it for handheld use in regional and rural areas.

An innovative video, imaging and multimedia mobile phone is introduced in the Telstra range with the LG Viewty Smart. The handset features large 3-inch touch display, 7.2Mbps rated HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The LG phone seems to be a perfect device for watching videos stream YouTube clips and listening to music or sharing a photo collection. The multimedia experience is enhanced with Dolby digital sound.

The Viewty Smart encompasses a premium 8 megapixel digital camera offering Schneider Kreuznach optics and smart camera technology. With this technology, capturing quality shots is effortless. The mobile phone also features video calling, FM radio, voice recorder, DivX and XviD video playback support, proximity and accelerometer and video recording capabilities.

The LG Xenon is available on a $40 plan for 24 months or RRP of $589. The LG GM730f would be initially launched in Melbourne and Sydney T[life] stores on 28 July and 11 August, 2009 in other channels. It is available on an $80 plan for 24 months or RRP $979 outright. The HTC Touch Pro2 can be purchased from selected stores from 21 July, 2009 on a MRO for $1499 on a Telstra member or casual post-paid plan.

The Sony Ericsson W995 would be offered from 28 July, 2009 on a $100 plan over 24 months or RRP $1199 outright. However, the W508 is available from 7 July, 2009 on a $30 plan over 24 months or RRP $529 outright. The LG Viewty Smart can be obtained from 14 July, 2009 on an $80 plan over 24 months or RRP $979 outright.
