SwiftKey 3 update rolled out with new themes, various improvements onboard

SwiftKey 3

An update to the SwiftKey 3 for Android application has surfaced bearing a host of improvements and bug fixes as well as two summer themes, namely Sky and Fuchsia. It also offers Google voice typing for those who ‘like to talk rather than type.’

The above-mentioned feature is compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean platforms only. Through it, users will be able to input text orally instead of actually typing it down. The update now supports languages like Urdu and Malay, bringing the total count to 44 compatible tongues.

Ben Medlock, SwiftKey co-founder and CTO, exclaimed, “The latest update shows the team’s commitment to our customers. Themes and languages are often the most discussed topics on our community and we’re positive our users will be excited to get their hands on more. We’ve also worked hard to roll out improvements and bug fixes as quickly as possible as we know having a smooth user experience is vital.”

For those who have missed the smiley button on GTalk, this release brings back the option. The list of bug fixes wouldn’t be complete without the mention of text prediction that has been restored to a workable state for applications such as the Jelly Bean browser, Google Now, HTC notes and Dolphin HD. Speaking of amendments, the ‘doubledouble’ hitch on Firefox and Chrome has been repaired as well.

The SwiftKey 3 update for Android can be picked up through Google Play, AndroidPIT and Amazon Appstore. It is available free of charge for existing users, while the price for new buyers stands at $3.99.
