The Nokia Lumia 900 software update has been let loose for the US and Canada as part of the company’s ‘ongoing commitment.’ This major upgrade brings forth a range of tweaks and has been implemented following user comments and feedback.
First off, Lumia owners in the US can experience improved camera and battery performance. The renowned flip-to-silence feature which mutes the ringtone when the handset is flipped over now comes knocking for this particular device. The boot-up sequence has also been fine-tuned in the new upgrade.
“The Nokia Lumia 900 has been turning heads since it appeared on store shelves in May. As part of our ongoing commitment to our Lumia owners, today we’ve announced the availability of a software update that brings numerous enhancements to the Nokia Lumia 900 in the United States and Canada,” states a post on the official Nokia Conversations blog.
As for folks in Canada, the software rubs along nicely with the Contacts Share app. The bug responsible for a purple hue displayed on the screens of certain Lumia devices in low light conditions has been fixed. The proximity sensor performance has been improved. Apart from these changes, other modifications made for the US stay in place for this country as well.
The Nokia Lumia 900 software update can be installed through Zune for Windows. Mac owners can use the Windows Phone 7 connector. The complete installation has 3 updates and it will take around 30 minutes to download.
