Samsung Epic 4G users from Sprint will most likely see a Gingerbread ‘Software update available’ sort of pop-up on their device this month. SprintFeed claims to have reliable details on the Android 2.3 update, expected to hit the smartphone after the mid of this month. The information provided, is stated to be from an anonymous source.
The device, previously running Froyo will receive an overhaul. It’s rumored that the company will release an update for the smartphone, upgrading the handset to Gingerbread. Also, the OS is said to be WIP and will feature the Samsung Touch Wiz user interface.
And the juicy tidbits didn’t end at just the update. Sources hinted towards the release of a new device, the Epic 2 which is expected to launch sometime between September-August.
Samsung Epic 4G users can expect the update to arrive on or after July 24, 2011. Although the upgrade is highly anticipated by many users, there is no official confirmation on its release or even existence.
