Not only are expensive handsets being showcased at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress 2008, but very wallet-friendly ones as well. Spice has launched a mobile phone at $20 for users who cannot afford expensive handsets.
B.K Modi has informed that the cost of the Spice mobile which is $20 will fall even further as the mass production to the handset will begin.
Spice also showcased a mobile which works on the DVD player. This mobile phone is expected to reach the Indian markets by June 2008.Spice will be selling a mobile phone in the Asian markets from Iraq to Indonesia which will have no display screen. This handset will be sold from the March 2008.
Modi also added that they are planning to introduce more mobile phones at a low price in the future ranging from about $10 to $20. They will be reducing the cost of the mobile phones as its handsets will not have a screen and other non-essential features.
According to Modi the consumer’s main reason for not having a mobile phone is the cost of device which is usually very high. But now, Spice which is offering a phone at such a low price range can be afforded by every common man.
